			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Join Amnesty International Pittsburgh Group 39 (our general community group) for a night of spoken word, poetry, short films and other activities to learn more about human rights cases and issues the local group works on and how you can get involved. Non-members are welcome to find out more about what types of work we do and how to join up! Current members are invited to welcome new members and reconnect with other members. Amnesty International Pittsburgh Group 39 has been working for human rights since 1976, whether it be for victims of abuses overseas or right here in Pittsburgh. We welcome all to join and keep this rich legacy going!</p>
<p><strong>Admission</strong>: Over-21 event. Nominal cover charge gets you free food, drink, membership information and performances by local artists and activists.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Each year thousands of people across the world mark International Human Rights Day by taking part in Amnesty International&#8217;s Write-a-thon. We write letters to demand that the rights of individuals are respected, protected and fulfilled.</p>
<p>Join us in Pittsburgh for a Candlelight Ceremony, as members of the community read about the human rights cases that are the focus this year and write letters. Last year, Pittsburgh wrote over 800 letters! Let&#8217;s make this year even better! Snacks and refreshments provided, as well as all materials for letter writing. Come early or late, and stay as long as you can.</p>
